Don't Let Rain Dampen Your Wedding Day!

It's Ireland! You can't guarantee what the weather will be like if you're planning an outdoor wedding. But don't let that rain dampen your spirits!

Most venues will have a backup plan. They often provide an indoor alternative if the weather on your wedding day isn't cooperating. So, check with your coordinator. Run through your options and pick the backup plan that works best for you.

Embrace the Madness

If you decide to go for it and have your ceremony outside, expect to get wet! But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Embrace the madness! Work with your photographer and videographer to make the best of a rainy day.

Rain can create some spectacular photos and video content. Plus, umbrellas can be fantastic accessories for great images! Check if your vendors provide umbrellas for emergencies. If not, consider sourcing some yourself just in case!

Venue Preparedness

Most venues will make the call early on the day. This allows for relocating chairs and decor to the alternative location indoors. Don’t let it upset you; it's one of those things you can't control. Trust in your handpicked team of professionals to help you achieve the day you want.

I’ve done weddings in the rain, as seen in the slideshow above. I always have a change of clothes in the car, so getting damp is no big deal!

Considerations for Rainy Days

Here are a few things to bear in mind when planning for a rainy wedding:

  • Sound Systems: Rain can cause issues with PA systems and microphones. Make sure your sound setup is waterproof or has a backup plan.

  • Candles: If you're planning to use candles, keep in mind that they might not work well in the rain. I provide lanterns for outdoor ceremonies if needed to help with wind and rain!

Making the Most of Your Day

Remember, your wedding day is about celebrating love and commitment. Whether it rains or shines, focus on what truly matters. Surround yourself with loved ones, and let the joy of the day shine through, regardless of the weather.

So, if you find yourself facing a rainy wedding day, just smile and say, "This is our story!" After all, every moment contributes to the unique tapestry of your wedding day.

In conclusion, while we can't control the weather, we can control how we respond to it. Let's make the best of it together!
